Perceived Choices of Graduation among Master Students: Expectancy-Task Value Theoretical Perspective

This study investigated whether motivational beliefs (expectancy of success and value in research practice related tasks) among master students predict the achievement choices for graduation (thesis or non-thesis) examined likelihood those thesis non-thesis preferring group. Participants studied various programs two universities Cambodia completed questionnaires about their expectancy values toward tasks preferences graduation. Results logistic regression analysis revealed that, beliefs, only cost indicated a significant predictor (p = .003). Furthermore, associated group was anchored at who have higher positive on (ß 2.386, p .003, Exp (ß) 10.867, Odd 986.9), interest .933, .431, 2.542, 154.2), utility .835, .226, 2.306, 130.6), attainment .218, .699, 1.243, 24.3) although rest expectancy-values components not completely discriminated its membership model. Implications findings to graduate future direction are discussed.
